Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Veil: White Noise & Sleep Sounds ("Veil", "the App"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.

2. What Veil does

Veil generates white noise, pink noise, brown noise, fan sounds, and other sleep sounds in real time on your device. All audio is synthesized locally. The App does not stream, download, or store audio files.

3. Free and premium tiers

Veil offers a free tier with four sounds and a premium tier ("Veil Premium") that unlocks all sounds, mixing, and additional features. Veil Premium is available as a monthly subscription, as an annual subscription, or as a one-time purchase of $19.99 USD (or local equivalent) that never expires. The price and billing period of each plan are shown in the app before you confirm any purchase.

Subscriptions. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically for the same period, at the same price, unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store account settings on iOS, or in your Google Play subscription settings on Android. Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not refund the period already paid for, and premium access continues until that period ends. Veil cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf, because neither store permits an app to do so.

One-time purchase. The lifetime unlock is non-consumable. You buy it once and it applies to your Apple ID or Google account permanently, with no renewal and no recurring charge.

Price changes. If the price of a subscription changes, the new price applies only to renewals after you have been notified and, where required, have consented. A one-time purchase already made is never re-charged.

Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective refund policies, not by Veil directly.

4. No account required

Veil does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the App. All preferences and settings are stored locally on your device.

5. Advertising

Veil may display a banner ad to free users when advertising is enabled. Ads are currently disabled. Premium users do not receive ads. If advertising is enabled in a future version, ad-related data handling will be described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Disclaimer

Veil is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do our best to make the App reliable, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted operation on every device and OS version.

Veil is not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition including insomnia, tinnitus, or hearing loss. If you have a medical condition that affects your sleep or hearing, consult a healthcare professional.

Use Veil at a safe listening volume. Prolonged exposure to loud sound, including white noise, can damage hearing. Keep your volume at a comfortable level.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veil and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

8. Intellectual property

The Veil name, logo, design, and all audio synthesis algorithms are the property of their respective creator. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute the App or its source code.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with applicable US federal and state law.
